Monday. Ann Marie poses with the third flat tire in two days!

Saturday. They may be cute, but not when they wake you up in the morning.

My lucky day (friday)

This guy was on my público to the west coast. He was a very friendly, avid adventista. During our break at the Buen Café he gave me 2 radio stations and 17 websites to connect myself with the global and Puerto Rican advenstist movement. In Spanglish he said, "No te la pierdas (the websites), it's gold for an eternal life" and "Dios fue looking for you", that's why we met on this público.

Monday. After two months of las navidades en Puerto Rico we did not grieve the breakdown of the castles, artificial palm trees, nativity scenes, giftboxes and lights.

Weekend

Cabezudo en la calle de San Sebastian.

This is our first guest entry, only posted after serious consideration by AJ and AM. The pro on the left appeared to prevail over these pensive amateurs. We'd like to thank Tara Habeck for her submission.

Friday. Las fiestas de la calle San Sebastian. Disclosure: This was photoshopped.

Monday-Wednesday

Wednesday. Mesmerized.

Tuesday early morning.

Monday. Looking for a place to pee on top of a mountain.

Sunday. Commercial fishing boats at Playa Crash Boat. The fisher(wo)men's names were decoratively painted on each boat.

Saturday
Tara furnished her house with items donated by a homeless shelter, hotel closing/ junk yard, and generous neighbors leaving their trash out.

Sentry Box

Thursday: This a pictures of one of many sentry boxes constructed in el Morro, the fort at the tip of Old San Juan. I suppose those silly Spanish imperialists would hang out in these boxes watching for seaborne attacks.

wednesday's mystery

I don't know how that palm got up there in the middle of the street.

Monday

Tuesay. Back to PR and back to the objective of diarios. This crevice at the Morro (big fort at the tip of Viejo San Juan) was inundated with broken glass and the smell of urine.

5 days missing and I only have 3 pictures

I'm sorry. AJ, yes, I know it's diarios and not semanales. Ha, ha. I miss you and Tara. Want to go to the DR in March? I haven't seen you in a long time.

Now on to the not-so-impressive photos:

The small avocadoes at my grocery store. I was perusing the selection and I met a nice Mexican couple. The husband bragged to me that his wife cooks Mexican food everyday.

I recently paid a visit to Eugene R. Lucas, D.D.S., P.C., and while I'll spare you the details, I will say that one should never underestimate the importance of flossing.

Kayur and my favorite coffeeshop made for an extremely pleasant Saturday afternoon.

Hurray on Saturday

This is my cute mom. I think she is the biggest Michigan basketball/football fan ever. For the rose bowl she made an M cake, decorated with a football on top of green coconut-grass. Yesterday during the Michigan vs. Northwestern b-ball game, she barely took notice of the photographer zooming in on her. She was immersed in the game: bad-mouthing the announcers for talking shit about her team, encouraging the M players with her salivating cheers, and discussing with me who knows who on the team. This is the same mom who my dad “didn’t know” and avoided during my floor hockey games.

friday night

In celebration of a tippy cup victory.

AM- you know our blog is called diarios and not semanales?
I hope you have fun in Memphis. Please don't run off with some indymedia organization though. I want you back in Puerto Rico.

Hair salon special edition

I realize I am abusing the Diarios rules and conduct by submitting 3 photos for one day, two of which are of myself. I'm making up for Friday and Sunday.

Saturday

Tara, my hair stylist, poses in her basement salon.

This was going to be a normal picture of my stylist in action, but she happened to clip my neck while I took this picture. Ouch.

This is a picture of a hole in my hair. I wish i had captured a picture of Tara's face after she accidentally cut with the regular scissors instead of the thinning ones.

Weekend montage (Anne Marie)

I spent a happy few days in the town of my alma mater. Here are the resulting photographs:

An old friend with his parrot. Michal is from the Czech Republic and his English might be better than mine.

I am not ashamed to say that I think I have the sexiest boyfriend in the whole world. You should see his butt.

A slide made out of ice!

A woman cooking a big, fat pot of kettle corn for the hungry masses.
